Description
The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), Office of Career & Technical Education (OCTE), Shelby County Area Technology Center (ATC) in Shelbyville, KY has an opening for a Health Science Instructor for the 2024-25 school year.
This position is advertised as part of KRS Chapter 156 OCTE for employment through the Office of Career and Technical Education.
It is not subject to the provisions of KRS 18A for classified or unclassified service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaches occupational preparatory classes within a career and technical education program.
Performs other duties as required.
In accordance with KRS 161.
220 the applicant selected for this position will become a member of the Teachers' Retirement System.
Applicants and employees in this classification may be required to submit to a drug screening test and background check.
Salary dependent upon qualifications, training, and experience.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Must hold the Rank III Kentucky teaching certificate in the subject area to be taught;
OR
Must hold a Kentucky Statement of Eligibility in the subject area to be taught;
OR
Four years of appropriate work experience, two of which must be in the last five years.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: NONE

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.
): Requires current RN license and one-year long-term care experience obtained in an approved skilled nursing facility or distinct part (SNF or NF) long-term care unit as defined in Federal Regulations Part 483 – Requirements for State and Long-Term Care Facilities.
