Kentucky Country Day School is actively seeking a Lower School Librarian for the coming 2024-25 school year.
The librarian will work with both students and teachers to facilitate access to information in a wide variety of formats, instruct students and teachers how to acquire, evaluate and use information and the technology needed in this process, and introduce children and young adults to literature and other resources to broaden their horizons.
The Lower School Librarian will work closely with the lower school specials team and is an integral part of the carousel model.
Qualifications:
Master of Library Science or Library and Information Science degree earned at a college or university whose program is recognized by appropriate bodies such as the American Library Association (ALA), the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) required.
Experience in a school environment is preferred.
Knowledge of the philosophy and techniques of school library services.
Proficiency using library management software, Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms).
Highly motivated, flexible, creative, and patient.
