*Responsibilities:*
● Teach GED/HSD specific curriculum to students at varying academic levels ○ academic levels can range from fourth to eighth-grade reading/math levels ● Work w/ students to pursue the high school attainment pathway best suited to their needs; GED, JCHS E-School, PennFoster, etc ● Adapt curriculum and develop additional materials according to the needs of the program and trainees ● Incorporate service learning opportunities to link classroom to AmeriCorps service projects ● Incorporate life skills into the curriculum to assist students with transitioning from program to their livelihood.
● Monitors, evaluates, and communicates students' progress ● Maintain Records and makes reports ● Supervises students and secures/maintains school property and materials ● Be available for meetings to discuss students' progress
*Qualifications:*
● A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in education, adult education, or a field
related to the organization.
Applicants working towards their Bachelor's in education will be considered.
● Experience in creative curriculum planning and development
● Must have deep respect for the ideas and intelligence of young adults
● Strong commitment to helping young people succeed in an innovative training
the program, to reorient their lives, nurture their leadership skills, and enable them to
make a difference in their community
● Ability to relate sensitively to a multiracial and multicultural group of young people.
● Excellent oral and written communication skills
● Must possess class management skills
