Legal Assistant: Trusts & Estates
Description:
Stoll Keenon Ogden PLLC is seeking a Legal Assistant for our Louisville Kentucky office to join a team of attorneys in its Trusts & Estates Practice Group.
This is an ideal position for a candidate who has assisted with office, drafting and administration tasks in support of trusts and estates attorneys.
Job Responsibilities:
Processing/scanning mail.
Routine updates to and/or forwarding of materials to clients and other attorneys in the firm for recording of deeds, recording of corporate documents, etc.
New file set up and intake, including preparation of engagement letters and preparing/ populating hard file when ready.
Organizing and maintaining high volume of both electronic and paper files, including cataloguing original planning documents.
Detail management and compilation of case files and documents.
Oral and written communications with a variety of entities, including clients, courts, opposing counsel, vendors, government agencies, etc.
Preparation of large volume of correspondence to clients and other entities
Docketing and managing deadlines, scheduling, calendaring and completing expense reports.
Maintaining attorney CLE files.
Prepare documents for signing with clients and coordinate attendance of other staff a witnesses as needed.
Job Requirements/Skills:
High level of organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage and prioritize a variety of matters while working with multiple supervisors.
Technologically savvy with a high proficiency in MS Word, Outlook and Excel; has the ability and willingness to learn new technology and processes.
People oriented – enjoys interacting and communicating cooperatively with a wide range of colleagues from across the firm.
Achievement oriented – enjoys taking on challenges while being proactive.
Capable – shows initiative and can be trusted to perform assigned tasks and duties in a deadline-driven environment.
Team member who maintains the willingness and mentality to get the work completed when needed.
Willing and able to work overtime when required.
Adaptable and flexible – enjoys work that requires frequent shifts in direction.
Knowledge & Experience:
Proven experience as a Legal Assistant, with a focus on trusts and estates.
Familiar/proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Knowledge of basic office hardware including PCs, laptops, printers, scanners, and copiers.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with focus on rapport-building and listening.
Job Type: Full-time.
Normal work week 37.
5 hours.
Work additional or irregular hours to perform essential duties as required.
